Marty McFly, a teenager from 1985, is accidentally sent back to 1955 by his eccentric friend, Doc Brown. Doc has built a time-traveling DeLorean. Marty's presence in 1955 throws the timeline into chaos, as he inadvertently alters the course of his own family's future. He must now work to undo the changes he's made and return to his own time, while also dealing with the complications of his parents' teenage romance.
